Pour the warm water into a bowl, add the sugar, squeeze in the juice from half a lemon, stir in the instant yeast and chicory, and mix thoroughly until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Transfer the mixture into a plastic bottle. Gently squeeze the bottle to push out some air before screwing the cap on tight.

Place in a warm spot for 2 to 3 hours.
