Cookie Policy

This page explains which cookies and similar technologies (local storage) belkafood.no uses, and why.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They help the site "remember" you between requests — for example, to keep you signed in.
2. Which Cookies We Use
Strictly Necessary (No Consent Required)
These cookies are required for the site's basic operation and cannot be disabled without losing functionality:
- Session cookie (e.g.
belkafood_session) — stores your login session and selected language version; - XSRF-TOKEN — protection against cross-site request forgery (CSRF), required for form security.
Third-Party (Consent Required)
These cookies are set by third-party services we use for specific features:
- Google Sign-In (Google OAuth) — if you choose to sign in with a Google account, Google sets its own cookies during authorization;
- Telegram Login — the Telegram sign-in widget may set its own cookies on the telegram.org/oauth.telegram.org domain.
What We Do NOT Use
We do not use cookies for analytics (Google Analytics or similar) and do not use advertising/marketing cookies.
3. Local Storage (Browser Storage)
In addition to cookies, we use your browser's local storage (never sent to the server) to:
- remember checked items in the shopping list on a recipe page and in the meal planner;
- remember your theme preference (light/dark);
- remember that you dismissed the prompt to install the app (PWA) or the cookie banner.
4. How to Manage Cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies (session, CSRF) will make it impossible to sign in or use forms on the site.
5. Consent
On your first visit to the site, you'll be asked whether to allow optional (third-party) cookies. Strictly necessary cookies are set regardless, since the site cannot function technically without them.
6. Questions
