Method

Sort through the strawberries, rinse, and hull them; wash the apples and cut them into wedges.

Pack the apples and strawberries into sterilized jars, fill with boiling water almost to the brim, cover with lids, and let steep for 15 minutes.

Drain the liquid into a saucepan, add the sugar and citric acid, bring to a boil, and simmer for 3–5 minutes until the sugar completely dissolves.

Pour the hot syrup back into the jars, seal tightly, turn upside down, wrap in a blanket, and let cool completely for a slow cooling process.

Store in a cool place.
