Method

Thoroughly wash the potatoes without peeling them.

Make a cross-shaped slit on top without cutting all the way through.

Place the potatoes in a steamer and cook for 25–35 minutes until very tender.

Transfer to a plate and gently open up the slit.

Drop a generous pat of butter right into the center.

Season with salt to taste and serve immediately while the butter is still melting.
