Method
Prepare the custard base: whisk together the egg, sugar, and flour, add vanilla, pour in the milk, whisk to combine, place over low heat, and cook until thickened, stirring constantly. Let it cool completely.
Mash the cottage cheese with sugar and an egg, then add vanilla, baking soda, and gradually incorporate the flour.
The dough should be firm yet pliable. Divide it into 6-8 pieces (depending on your skillet's diameter). Roll out thinly and prick with a fork so they don't puff up.
Cook on a dry skillet over medium heat until golden brown on both sides. Trim any uneven edges.
Let them cool.
Beat the butter with an electric mixer, gradually adding the cooled custard base.
Frost the layers, sprinkling with nuts in between if desired.
Decorate the top with crumbs from the trimmed edges, nuts, and grated chocolate. Let it soak for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight.
