Method

In a bowl, mix the warm milk, water, and salt until the salt dissolves.

Gradually add the flour and knead into a soft dough with an earlobe-like texture. Let it rest for 25 minutes.

Melt the butter over low heat and mix in the vegetable oil.

Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces.

Roll out the first piece on a floured surface, brush with the oil mixture, and gently stretch the edges.

Fold the corners toward the center to form a square, and set it aside. Repeat the process with the remaining pieces.

Stack the squares, chilling the dough in the refrigerator for 1 hour if needed to make rolling easier.

Place the dough on a baking sheet and roll it out to a thickness of about 1 cm.

Score the top, then brush with egg yolk and oil.

Bake at 200°C (400°F) until golden brown.
