Method

Whisk the eggs and sugar together until light and creamy.

Fold in the remaining cake ingredients and mix thoroughly.

Pour the batter into your pan and smooth it out. Bake in a preheated 350°F oven.

For the cream filling, combine milk, sugar, flour, and cornstarch in a saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring, until thickened. Stir in vanilla extract and let it cool completely.

Once cooled, fold in half a carton of heavy cream and whip everything together until smooth.
