Method

Dissolve the yeast in slightly warm water. Add sugar and salt.

Sift half of the flour (1.5 cups) into a bowl. Gradually add the dissolved yeast, vegetable oil, and the remaining flour, cutting through the mixture with a knife to bring the dough together.

Divide the dough into 3 portions. Roll each portion out into a circle about 5 mm thick, then cut it into 8 wedges.

Flatten the wide end of each wedge slightly, place 1 teaspoon of jam in the center, and pinch the edges tightly to keep the jam from leaking out. Stretch the narrow tip slightly and roll it up into a crescent shape.

Place the crescents on a baking sheet greased with vegetable oil.

Bake in a well-preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 15 to 20 minutes, until golden brown.
