Method
In warm milk, dissolve 1 spoonful of sugar, add the yeast, mix well, and let sit for 15 minutes to activate.
Whisk the eggs with the sugar, pour in the melted butter and vegetable oil, and add the vanilla.
Pour in the activated yeast mixture and stir to combine.
If desired, fold in raisins, candied fruit, or nuts.
Gradually incorporate the sifted flour until the dough becomes smooth.
Transfer to baking pans and let rise at room temperature for 3 to 4 hours—the dough will triple in volume.
Bake in an oven preheated to 180 °C until done, testing with a toothpick for doneness.
