Method

Rinse the berries and transfer them to a saucepan.

Add 100-150 ml of water, bring to a boil, and immediately remove from heat.

Press the currants through a fine-mesh sieve.

Measure the extracted juice and stir in an equal weight of sugar (a 1:1 ratio).

Bring the mixture to a boil and simmer over low heat for 5-7 minutes.

Ladle into sterilized jars and let cool slightly.

Seal tightly with hot sterilized lids and store in a cool place.
