Method
Sort and wash ripe berries, and pit the cherries. Cover with sugar and refrigerate for 3-5 hours.
Place the pot over low heat and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Once boiling, stir in the lemon juice and cook for exactly 5 minutes. Skim off the foam!
Wash and sterilize the jars.
Ladle the hot jam into dry, sterilized jars and seal immediately with boiled, hot lids.
Invert the sealed jars of jam and wrap them up for a few hours until cooled. The lids should pop inward. Afterward, move the jars to the bottom shelf of the refrigerator to chill thoroughly.
