Method

1

Prep your loaf pan in advance by greasing it and lining it with parchment paper.

2

Whisk together the flour and dry ingredients in one bowl.

3

In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar with a mixer until light, fluffy, and relatively smooth.

4

Add the eggs one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition until fully incorporated into the butter-sugar mixture.

5

Gradually fold in the dry ingredients in batches, alternating with the sour cream. Beat after each addition—you should do three additions of flour and two of sour cream.

6

Dice the pear into 1x1 cm cubes and gently fold them into the batter.

7

Spread half of the batter into the prepared pan, top with halva chopped into 2x2 cm cubes, cover with the remaining batter, and scatter halva crumbs over the top.

8

Preheat the oven to 160°C (320°F). Bake for 45-50 minutes, testing for doneness with a toothpick.

9

Let the baked cake rest in the pan for 30 minutes, then unmold and let it cool completely on a wire rack.
