Belyashi are a traditional Russian yeast-dough dish with a savory meat and potato filling. Baked in the oven instead of fried, they turn out juicy and aromatic.

Method
Make the dough using kefir, baking soda, melted butter, salt, and flour, then place it in a bag and let rest for 30 minutes.
For the filling, mix ground meat, finely diced potatoes, onion, and spices.
Divide the dough into 14 portions, roll each into a circle, place the filling in the center, and pinch the edges together at the top, leaving a small hole in the middle.
Transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush with beaten egg, and bake at 210°C (410°F) for 25-30 minutes.
Add a small piece of butter into the hole of each hot belyash right after baking.
