Method
Pour the yeast, sugar, and salt into a bowl with warm water, add mayonnaise, and mix thoroughly.
Add the flour to the mixture and knead a soft and sticky dough. Before kneading, it's best to oil your hands with vegetable oil.
Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour, then punch it down and roll it out into a sheet about 10-12 inches in diameter. Cut small rounds about 2.5-3 inches across.
For the filling, finely shred the cabbage and dice the onion. Sauté the onion first, then the cabbage in a pan with vegetable oil until cooked through.
Place the cooled filling onto each round and seal the edges.
Put the buns seam-side down in a pan with vegetable oil. Make sure they're generously covered with oil.
Fry the buns until golden brown on both sides.
While one batch is frying, don't forget to cover the remaining buns with a kitchen towel.
