Method

Rinse the cucumbers thoroughly, soak them in cold water for 2 hours to keep them crispy, then trim the ends.

Sterilize your jars and lids.

Make the brine: bring water to a boil with salt and sugar, then stir in the vinegar.

Layer the jars with bay leaves, peppercorns, mustard seeds, fresh dill heads, and sliced garlic, then pack the cucumbers in tightly.

Pour the hot brine over them, cover with lids, and process the jars in boiling water for 15 minutes after the water comes to a full boil.

Seal the jars, flip them upside down, wrap them in a towel, and let them cool overnight.
