Method

Combine all ingredients in a heavy-bottomed saucepan and blend with an immersion blender until smooth.

Place over medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture completely melts.

Remove from heat and blend again with an immersion blender.

Fold in any desired mix-ins, or leave it plain.

Pour into a glass container, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface, chill, and it's ready to enjoy.
