Method

Wash the apples and cut them into quarters, keeping the cores intact. Just trim away any bruised or damaged spots.

Cover the apples with water so they are fully submerged. Bring to a boil and cook until the apples fall apart.

Strain the juice using a colander lined with a clean kitchen towel or cheesecloth.

Add sugar at a ratio of 1 kg of sugar per 1.5 liters of juice. Simmer down until it thickens to a syrupy consistency.

Pour into sterilized jars and seal.
