Garlic and Cheese Mashed Potatoes
Tender and aromatic mashed potatoes made with cream cheese, garlic, and milk. A fantastic and hearty side dish for any table.

Method
Peel the potatoes and cut them into medium or large pieces of roughly the same size. Mince the garlic.
Place the potatoes in a pot along with the garlic. Pour in enough water so that it sits about a centimeter above the potatoes. Add a teaspoon of salt.
Bring to a boil over medium heat. Then simmer over moderate heat for about 10–15 minutes until tender.
Drain the liquid. Return the pot to the stove to dry out the potatoes a bit more.
Mix the softened butter with the milk and salt. Warm it up on the stove, but do not bring it to a boil.
Mash the potatoes until smooth. Gradually add the butter and milk mixture first, followed by the cheese. Mix well after each addition.
