Method
Make a yeast dough using flour, water, milk, yeast, sugar, salt, and oil. Let it rise for 1 to 1.5 hours.
Mix the softened butter with minced garlic, fresh herbs, and half of the grated cheese.
Punch down the dough, roll it out into a rectangle, and spread the filling evenly over it.
Roll it up tightly into a log, sealing the edges well.
Cut the log lengthwise, leaving one end attached, and either braid the strands or shape it to fit your baking pan.
Transfer to a baking sheet and let it proof for 20 to 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
Brush the loaf with an egg wash made from egg yolk and milk, then sprinkle with the remaining cheese and sesame seeds.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly and serve warm.
