Method

Cut the fish fillet into portion-sized pieces.

Mix salt, ground pepper, and flour together, then dredge the fillets in the mixture.

Heat a skillet with vegetable oil and pan-fry the fish on both sides until cooked through.

Slice the onions into half-rings and coarse-grate the carrots.

Sauté the onions and carrots in vegetable oil.

Stir in tomato paste dissolved in a cup of hot water, along with salt, sugar, and allspice berries.

Simmer the marinade over medium heat for 10 minutes, then drop in the bay leaf.

Let it cool, pour in the vinegar, and stir well.

Layer half of the marinade in a container, place the fish on top, and cover with the remaining marinade.

Chill in the refrigerator overnight.
