Pat the duck breast dry with paper towels and score the skin lightly, just as shown in the video.

Place it skin-side down on a dry pan over medium heat. Sear for 4 minutes on the skin side, then flip it over. Add butter, garlic, and fresh herbs, and cook for another 5–7 minutes. Wrap everything in foil to finish cooking.

While that's going, make the lingonberry sauce: combine lingonberries and sugar in a saucepan and warm over medium heat until it just comes to a simmer—don't let it boil hard. The berries will soften.

Blend the sauce until smooth and let it cool. If you like, strain it through a fine sieve.
