Method

Wash the cucumbers and slice them into rounds about 1/4-inch (0.5 cm) thick.

Pack them tightly into a sterilized jar, adding garlic if you like.

Pour boiling water over the cucumbers twice, letting them sit for 10 minutes each time with the lid loosely on.

Drain the second batch of water into a saucepan, stir in the sugar, salt, adjika, and spices, bring to a boil, and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes before stirring in the vinegar and taking it off the heat.

Pour the hot marinade over the cucumbers, seal the jars tightly, and wrap them up in a warm blanket until they cool down completely.

Store in a cool spot.
