Method
Mash the cottage cheese with the egg until smooth. Add the sugar and mix thoroughly.
Gradually fold in the flour mixed with the baking powder. The dough should be soft, pliable, and slightly sticky (do not add too much flour so the balls stay tender).
Wet your hands with water or lightly oil them. Pinch off small pieces of dough and roll them into neat, round balls.
Heat oil in a deep skillet or wok. The heat should be medium so the balls cook through evenly without burning on the outside. Fry until golden brown on all sides, stirring occasionally.
Transfer the finished balls to paper towels to drain excess oil.
Dust with powdered sugar or serve warm with jam, honey, or condensed milk.
