Add a pinch of salt to the eggs and beat with a mixer for 1 minute. Next, add the sugar and vanilla, and beat until pale and fluffy.

Pour in the milk and oil, sift in the flour and cocoa powder, and add the baking powder. Use a spatula to gently fold everything together until smooth.

Dice the pears, add them to the batter along with the chocolate, and stir to combine.

Pour the batter into a baking pan and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 45-50 minutes. Check for doneness with a wooden skewer.
