Method

Mix together the kefir, baking soda, salt, and egg.

Add the sifted flour and vegetable oil, then knead into a slightly sticky dough. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, sauté the onions and carrots with a pinch of sugar, add the cabbage and spices, followed a few minutes later by butter and water, and simmer covered until the cabbage is tender.

Divide the rested dough into 55g portions.

Flatten into a disc, add the filling, and shape into a pirozhok.

Fry in vegetable oil until golden and cooked through.
