Method
Combine water, milk, vegetable oil, sugar, yeast, salt, and flour. Knead into a medium-soft dough.
Cover the dough and let it rest for 10 minutes.
Divide the dough into 8–10 equal portions and shape them into balls.
Cover the pieces and let rest for another 10 minutes.
Roll out each ball, brush with butter, and roll up into a log.
Stretch each log slightly with your hands, then bring the ends together to form a ring.
Dilute the pekmez with water. Dip each ring first into the molasses mixture, then coat thoroughly in toasted sesame seeds.
Place the simits on a baking sheet spaced apart and let rest for 10 minutes.
Bake in a preheated oven at 190°C (375°F) for about 25–30 minutes, until golden brown.
