Method

Rinse the blackberries in a colander with cold water and let excess moisture drain.

Sterilize a 1-liter jar over steam for 5 minutes.

Transfer the berries to the jar, add the sugar and citric acid.

Bring water to a boil and pour the boiling water over the berries until it overflows slightly.

Scald the lid, cover the jar, and seal immediately.

Carefully swirl the jar, wrapping it in a towel, to dissolve the sugar.

Turn upside down, wrap in a blanket, and leave until completely cooled.

Once cooled, move to a cool place.
