Method

In a suitable bowl, whisk together the sugar, vegetable oil, and yogurt until creamy.

Set aside 1 cup of the mixture to use later as a topping for the cake.

Beat the remaining mixture together with the eggs.

Add the vanilla, baking powder, and flour, mixing thoroughly.

Soak the raisins in warm water for 15 minutes, then pat dry.

Prepare a baking pan, grease it with oil, and pour in the batter, spreading it evenly.

Peel the apples, slice them into wedges, and arrange them on top of the batter.

Scatter the soaked and dried raisins over the top.

Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) until golden brown.

Once the cake has cooled slightly, pour the reserved syrup over the top and spread it evenly.
